of seeds & soil is Lidou's first solo exhibition, showcasing a series of oil paintings depicting the female form in their diverse and unidealized shape.

By shining light on the parts womxn are taught to hide and dislike, Lidou wants to reclaim a sense of confidence and agency over the narrative of the female form which in todays world is heavily influenced by beauty standards, dictated by the male gaze and social media.

This generational experience of living in a time that has everyone exposed to unattainable beauty standards but also united in a feeling of uncertainty and longing for a non-existent "perfect" version of one's self, has ultimately led to the creation of of seeds & soil.

Choosing unusual and rather unbecoming angles and perspectives, Lidou wants to challenge the viewer's ideas of modern ideals of beauty and self-worth, being non-compliant to provoke questions about beauty and art.

Offering space for visability and identification, of seeds & soil cherishes the female subject in her divine form: her true self.
